We've got a small range of the cutest goth bags in, available both on our webstore and instore both in Perth and Melbourne: click the below image to head to the category page:

Hey cats and kittens! It's been a while since we did a general update on what's been happening in the land of the Wild and hirsute. Frankly there's been so much going on over summer we've barely stopped expect to promote events we've been involved in - but there's been so much more!
Staff News: Our lovely stylist Kate became a fully qualified Senior early this year, and has been helping out at the Perth store - those of you who've met her in either location will know just how wonderfully she fits in with our great crew. Kelsey our part time Melbourne junior has become a full time apprentice, and starts classes in a couple weeks. She just got her tools for the trade last week, and has a spanky new pair of PIRATE scissors - that's right, PIRATE scissors! They are adorable, as is she. Everyone else is going great guns, and despite the economic downturn, we are still getting busier all the time- in fact we are always on the look out for new senior staff, so if you're qualified please send us your resume! We won't be looking for new juniors for at least 3-6 months or so though that's also one the cards as well so if you're interested in working with us in either case please send resumes to jobs@wildilocks.com.
New Products: As always new clothing is arriving all the time, with additions to the racks over the past few weeks including gorgeous Sekushi open rope-back 3/4 sleeve tops that we all adore, some super cute new style New Rock Boots, semi glove/arm sleeves in simple stripe and tribal patterns as well as fancier lace and velvet styles, volumious floor length ball skirts, and so much more. In hair product, we have been stocking Directions hair dye for a few months now and have been really impressed with this adjunct to our Special Effects range of intense semi-permanent colours: there are some slightly different shades, and they are as long lasting as SFX. Yummy! Also new on the radar are a couple of great certified organic products by Everescents and CHI: Our current favourite hair reviltaliser, the Organic Cinnamon and Patchouli Deep Treatment has become hugely popular with clients and staff alike; and we've just received new stock of our always popular CHI Tone & Shine colour enhancing conditioners: we're very excited to discover the new range has become Certified Organic as this was not previously an organic product. Has necessitated a small price rise, but it's so worth it to tread lighter on our planet.

Events: Things are a little quiet on the event front now Circa Nocturna is over, but the Antipodean League of Temporal Voyagers (the nominal organising body behind Euchronia) has just announced A Queen's Birthday Dinner Voyage - a lovely steampunk-themed dinner aboard Melbourne's Colonial Tramway Restaurant! That's still a few months away but tickets are strictly limited, and available from the League website or in store @ The Lockworks.
New Treats: Finally, we have just updated our Wildilocks Treats blog with a new article on Vintage styling: Regency to early Victorian (the Jane Austen era) which is a gorgeous look indeed, see out lovely model Alice below:

Holiday Opening Hours: Please note that Wildilocks in both Perth and Melbourne will be closed the entire weekend of Easter from Friday 10th - Monday 13th April.
That's all for this newsletter folks! Have a wonderful belated Vernal Equinox celebration and don't stuff yourself with *too* much chocolate :)

Well now that we are well and truly into the new year and post-Euchronia euphoria has settled (portrait photos are all up now btw, over here), it's time to get back to the regular business of doing awesome hair and having many wonderful treasures available for you instore. Best news of the week: Coilhouse Issue #2 has just arrived! The new issue is cram packed full of beautiful images, fascinating stories, and our personal favourite bit - Wildilocks has a placement in the inside cover, shot by the ever-talented Nadya Lev, as below:

You can get Coilhouse from The Lockworks in Melbourne right now, online from our webstore with delivery as soon as overnight within Australia, and from next week @ BASE808 in Perth.
Events: We have tickets available @ The Lockworks for two brilliant fundraisers coming up @ The East Brunswick Club - The Girl From East Brunswick next Friday to aid the Greyhound Adoption Program, and Valentines @ The East from Sugar Kitten Cabaret on Valentines day, with all proceeds going to WIRE! You can buy these online from the Wildilocks webstore too, with limited seated tix available for Valentine's.
Stock: We have a host of stock arrived recently in both stores, including many new items at incredibly reasonable prices from Phaze Clothing like pencil skirts, corset tops, dresses, shirts, miniskirts, manskirts, bows and hairclips, stripey socks, and new Covet vintage items including the cutest ruffly black tutu with built in knickers (yes, built in knickers!) and a whole lot more. We're also expecting any day now a delivery of brand new Dolly Q miniature hats including bicornes, tricornes and top hats, even MORE Phaze, and always have many new plans up our sleeves :)
Have a great Australia Day weekend and hopefully see some of you @ Golgotha!
Below: event flyers!

Just a note/reminder for those that aren't aware and may only watch the site through RSS or check the news page directly, Wildilocks @ The Lockworks, our Melbourne salon, has free wireless access for any appointment over one hour. Bring your lappy and you can surf or blog while we do fabulous things to your hair!
We have a new post on our new Wildilocks Treats blog, with 1930's style: Clara Bow, eat your heart out! We're also working on adding more of our stock to the webstore, but it's a tough slog with the Melbourne store really picking up pace, so we apologise for so much only being available in store still, unless you drop us an email to ask if we have or can get in a specific item. We have just recently begun stocking Asylum7 with a range of custom Steampunk corsets and skirts, and we have new designers on the go frantically making new stock which will be arriving soon!
We'd also like to welcome Rob, a new member to the Wldilocks team in the Perth salon @ BASE808 - Rob's been working in the hairdressing industry for eons [well at least a decade] and is quite familiar with the alt scene, but has been hidden away for a while! He's super excited to hone his skills in the more creative side of hairdressing and has some impressive competition work under his belt. Make Rob feel at home when you pop in @ BASE808! :)
Also... thought I'd share a giggle:
Have a great day!

Combichrist are coming to Perth on July 7, and we have tickets available in store now, $45 plus $2 booking fee. This is going to be a huge gig so don't miss out, get your tickets early :)
Also, we just had shipment today of our latest New Rock Boots order, as well as a huge new order of Threadless tshirts. And we'll have more MOS phat pants next week, David has promised! Mostly microfiber, but he's going to try and include some good black denim phatties too, but they are pretty low on stock still. Also on the near horizon are a couple of new labels that I'll say more about when they've arrived, and hopefully more Nubia/Vodabox in the next few weeks. You may have noticed we have some clothing lines on the webstore now, but we have a lot more to add that will be up in the coming weeks.
Exciting stuff coming up!

Okay folks, the new Wildilocks webstore is live. What a facelift! I still have alot of work to do, but the bare bones are there. Apologies if some items are missing: but you'll find alot have already been added that weren't there before. I'll be doing some promo over the next few days as long as I have time while over in Melbourne before the Suitable Transport ride, and as long as there are no huge dramas with the site either. But I will let you know now, if you create an account with the Webstore before the end of June, you'll get a completely no strings attached $15 gift voucher to spend on anything in the store: no expiration date and no minimum purchase!

I just thought I'd say at this point that I've been transferring across old news entries that were on the Wildilocks News page. The website is in the middle of a complete redesign, but hasn't gone live yet - but this RSS feed is. So say hi if you like, this news blog will be a more integral part of the site in future and hopefully will be updated far more regularly!

Wow! Its mid-May - and finally the site is complete enough for me to launch it officially. Obviously it's been unofficially up for a while now - but I've done major updates & shopping cart additions to nearly everything now!
There are a couple of sections, namely braids and hair wraps, still to be completed, and I haven't even added plastic yet to the menu - but the most important stuff is all up now, shopping cart, loads of accessories - and we have Goth Nation magazine in stock, too!
To celebrate the official launch, I'm running a couple of promotions. You can win a set of yaki base falls just by subscribing to the newly created mailing list, or win a deluxe set of dread falls by making any purchase over $USD20 - both before the 30th June 2003.
Wildilocks is touring over East again at the beginning of June - see the tour page for details, especially if you're in Melbourne and would like some extensions!
Also we have images now available from the most recent fashion show. It went smoothly as I've ever seen a fashion show run, the models were incredibly professional, and the attendees were most appreciative of the show.
Wildilocks will be doing hair for the next Outbreed, and possibly another event coming up soon, details yet to be confirmed, but it's looking good...
